iTunes has been a frequent visitor on my computer, coming and going. The reason I haven’t firmly decided to use it for managing my music files is simply due to inertia.

Inertia—since the initial setup of my computer, music files have only increased, never decreased. I’ve used various music download software like KuGou, KuWo, QQ Music, Xiami, Suile, and TTPlayer. From a single Music folder to tens of thousands of mp3/wma/aac/ape/midi/lrc/… format songs and lyrics scattered across my computer’s disk.

The winter vacation has finally passed, although the weather remains immersed in a continuous drizzle.

I braved the cold to return home, and along the way, I suddenly added layers from three to seven pieces of clothing, which only increased my fear of the harsh cold.

Thinking back to my youthful days, I once had a heated argument with my parents and, in a fit of anger, ran out into the snow to take a cold shower by the outdoor well. That incident left me bedridden for several days. Later, during my middle school years, driven by a wild and unrestrained personality, I spent days with a group of rowdy friends under a row of faucets, enduring the bone-chilling cold water from head to toe, and finally managed to scrape into university.

This is the last holiday of my student era, and there isn’t much to pack since I’ll need to return right after the New Year. For now, I’ll make some holiday plans.

There’s no internet at home, so I’ll have to rely on my phone for most tasks during this period. Today, I reinstalled UCWEB7.6 on my phone—it’s still the most reliable for quick web browsing, even though I’ve long been a fan of OPERA.

It’s been almost two months since the last update, and finally, the Shanda Bambook team has released a new firmware. Unfortunately, they are still playing the game of internal and public beta testing with staggered updates. It seems I won’t be able to wait for that day; I’m leaving tomorrow, and without internet at home, I won’t be able to update. Looks like I’ll have to stick with the TXT mode.

The power of WordPress lies in its versatility; you can use it to create almost any type of website without feeling too much pressure. The vast majority of internet applications can be achieved on the WordPress platform through various extensions. Its only weaknesses might be execution efficiency and the difficulty of secondary development.

I have struggled for a long time with the issue of notepads, feeling overwhelmed by tools like Evernote, MaiKu, Google Notepad, Google Reader, Foxnotepad, etc. In the end, I decided to just create my own using WordPress.

What the hell is Weibo?

From opening a Twitter account in 2007 to now, I’ve used at least 10 different microblogging accounts. Among them, the one I’ve stuck with the longest is probably Tencent Weibo, which I started using in May this year and used continuously for 3 months.

Of course, if you count my personal microblog, this record is even longer, reaching 6 months.

I started tweeting just to follow the trend, then I messed around with follow5, but I never really got into Fanfou and Jiwai (though I did use fanfou.es and fanfou.de to tweet for a while).

An article discovered on Gmail, published on Bailanyuan in June 2009, now posted here. It essentially represents my basic approach and methods regarding the format of “debate competitions” as a way to discuss issues.

Without much preparation, 24 contestants debated for several hours across 3 debate competitions, while I spent those hours analyzing the topics. Below are some of my basic viewpoints, representing my current, spontaneous thoughts, without implying any other meanings.

Today, a small issue kept me busy for several hours, and I strongly suspect that the school’s firewall is to blame.

Here’s what happened:

I have several sub-sites installed on one of my VPSs, running platforms including but not limited to phpwind, WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, etc. I remember that there were no issues for the past few months, but today, when I tried to create a new page on one of the sites and input the code for a Google Gadget, the page was immediately reset, meaning the connection to the server was lost, displaying an inability to connect, just like Twitter and other sites blocked by the GFW.
