Officially Becoming a Lawyer

At the beginning of the year, encouraged by my superiors (“Why do other districts have it, but not you?”), I started applying for a lawyer’s qualification. I had previously paid attention to this aspect but always thought it was of little use, so after obtaining the legal professional qualification certificate, it had been gathering dust and mold at the bottom of a box. This time, applying for the lawyer’s qualification was also a way to account for the sweat and effort of those hundreds of days and nights.

Fortnite - The Most Fun Game Ever

Recently, I upgraded my laptop’s graphics card from K2000M to GTX 980M, and the reason, naturally, was to play games. Initially, I thought about playing PUBG, but after trying H1Z1, it was so laggy it felt like watching a slideshow. So, I turned to Steam to check the statistics. It was said that the number of PUBG players had significantly dropped compared to a few months ago. Out of curiosity, I clicked on the game to read the reviews and found that everyone was talking about Fortnite. Driven by curiosity, I immediately downloaded Fortnite (Fortnite: Battle Royale) and ended up playing it for three days straight. It truly lives up to its reputation as the best game according to IGN reviews.

3 Years, 3 Refrigerators

Recently, the refrigerator at home suddenly stopped cooling in the fresh food compartment. Initially, I thought it might be due to seasonal reasons, as the temperature in Guangdong had dropped to around 10 degrees during the New Year, and the fresh food compartment was also around 10 degrees. However, with the recent rapid temperature rise to 30 degrees, the fresh food compartment reached 25 degrees, confirming that it was indeed broken.

A more economical Bluetooth solution for everyday use

With iPhone and Android canceling the 3.5mm audio interface one after another, Bluetooth devices ushered in a new round of explosion. Recently, I am playing Tencent’s new PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds: Stimulating the Battlefield. The foundation of years of fps is still there, and I can get started very quickly. Both 80% can enter the top 10. But this game has a very unfriendly problem - extremely fast power consumption, iPhone 7P 100% power, only open the default effect, the average power consumption per 20 minutes is about 20%-25%, full power is enough to play for more than 1 hour.

An Ordinary Yet Not So Simple 2017

2017 has passed by, and it feels like it was just yesterday, even though it’s already been more than half a month since the year-end summary meeting. This year brought some gains and some regrets. The most impactful for the future was probably finally learning to swim at the age of 28. As a “land duck” from the mountains, taking this step was a way to make up for a long-standing weakness, though the cost wasn’t low—my spouse and I spent over 2000 yuan on lessons.

Insights on Creating Government Agency PPTs

In recent years, under the guise of “the capable should do more,” I’ve taken on many tasks outside my department’s scope, one of which is creating PPTs for various units within our organization. The effort involved in making PPTs is something only those who have done it can truly understand. However, the amount of thought and effort invested doesn’t always translate into equivalent recognition. The more you do, the more mistakes you might make. Doing well is expected, and any dissatisfaction can easily land you in hot water.

Rule of law and institutions

Having nothing to do today, I found a copy of the political gains and losses in China written by Qian Mu from the bookshelf. The content of the book was written in the 1950s. The usage of some historical terms is slightly different from that in contemporary China.

Voices from the Corner

  • The Internet Environment

This is both the best and the worst era of the internet. After being battered by reality, many thoughts and words can only linger deep within, confined to casual conversations over tea, unseen and unspoken online. Perhaps the countless messages sent in WeChat groups, only to be instantly withdrawn, best illustrate this. Hold it in, don’t speak.
