It had been a few months since my last visit to Guangzhou. Recently, a colleague mentioned they had never been to the Canton Tower, so I decided to accompany them on a day trip to Guangzhou.
Although it was just a day, the time was quite limited. We mainly explored along the central axis of Tianhe District, visiting the Guangdong Provincial Museum, Yongqing Fang, and the Canton Tower. We chose to visit the Canton Tower last because we thought buying tickets for the evening would allow us to see both the daytime and nighttime views of Guangzhou.
The Guangdong Provincial Museum ranks last among the provincial museums I have visited. It was quite underwhelming, to the point where modern crafts are considered its treasures. The museum lacks significant cultural elements, focusing mainly on modern crafts and natural minerals. Many people say that Guangdong is a cultural desert in China, and there might be some truth to that.
