Today, my cousin, whom I haven’t been in touch with for a while, reached out to me and asked if I could help him revise his resume. When I took a look at it, I was quite surprised—are young people these days so casual with their resumes?
So, I spent a few minutes helping him make some changes.
Revision Thoughts
Although my first impression wasn’t great, I took a closer look and thought that the idea of a clean slate wasn’t too bad. After all, those overly flashy resumes from the past were often more about gimmicks than substance. The main issues were the chaotic formatting and lack of emphasis on key points.
Therefore, I standardized the content format based on the original structure and highlighted the selling points of the resume using the additional information he provided.
After all, when it comes to this resume, the core points are essentially three:
- All work experience is with major companies.
- Work experience is concentrated in machinery and equipment.
- Possesses certain professional qualifications.
With these elements in place, the resume revision was complete.
I wish him good luck in his job search.
