This is the last holiday of my student era, and there isn’t much to pack since I’ll need to return right after the New Year. For now, I’ll make some holiday plans.
There’s no internet at home, so I’ll have to rely on my phone for most tasks during this period. Today, I reinstalled UCWEB7.6 on my phone—it’s still the most reliable for quick web browsing, even though I’ve long been a fan of OPERA.
But I might not have much time to use my phone for internet, so I’ve pushed some basic things to my phone via email, like news and my favorite RSS feeds.
Also, since Bambook is indispensable in my life, I spent some time today browsing Yunzhong Bookstore and Qidian Chinese Network, downloading a bunch of free books to read casually during the holiday.
Without internet, I can’t use Xiami either. Today, I downloaded 8GB of songs—4GB on my MP3 player and 4GB on my phone. These are songs I usually don’t listen to, like Enya, Sigma, Jacky Cheung, Alan Tam, and Leslie Cheung, hoping to slightly normalize my music taste.
As for WordPress, I already have wpforbb on my phone, so updating won’t be too difficult, though the formatting might look a bit ugly since it doesn’t support URL rewriting.
I actually thought about preparing for the Guangdong Provincial Civil Service Exam, but since BB’s firmware can’t be updated to read PDFs directly, and I generally don’t feel like studying during holidays, I’ll just give up on that.
Last time I went home, I missed the train at night and had to change my ticket. It’s 9:20 PM now, and I hope I can catch the 10:50 PM train smoothly tonight.
