15 Ways to Log into QQ

Suddenly curious about how many ways there are to use QQ:

  1. Traditional QQ versions, such as QQ2005, QQ2008, etc., which have accompanied countless netizens through the good old days;

  2. Mobile versions of QQ, such as QQ2008 for mobile;

  3. TM, originally created by Tencent to compete with MSN, compatible with QQ;

  4. Web version of QQ, which has been intermittently developed over the years, accessible at http://web.QQ.com (previously at webqq.qq.com). The interface has recently become quite resource-intensive;

  5. Super QQ, which apparently allows login via SMS, quite torturous;

  6. 3GQQ, used it before, quite a hassle, requiring constant refreshing to check messages, designed for some older or non-Java supporting phones;

  7. Miniweb version of QQ, accessible at http://w.qq.com, seems quite generic, similar to many mobile backend plugins of websites. Opening this page on a mobile phone is quite torturous, with EDGE disconnecting… seems like only 3G users can handle it;

  8. Gaim or Pidgin, mentioned in previous logs, installed on my USB system, very powerful but prone to issues, mainly due to Tencent frequently changing protocol ports, making these highly compatible chat software fall behind;

  9. Instango, rumored to be able to log into QQ directly, but after downloading, found that only QQ login failed, while MSN, gtalk, etc., worked fine, and it consumes very little data;

  10. Many other webim integrated websites or software can log into QQ, such as meebo, imtata, imhaha, etc.;

  11. African QQ, previously rumored to have a large number of six or seven-digit beautiful numbers available for registration, later found out it can only be used in Africa, not compatible with the current QQ number system, accessible at http://www.qq.co.za;

  12. Thai QQ, an independent version, all in Thai, incomprehensible, accessible at: http://qq.sanook.com/;

  13. Japanese QQ, Indonesian QQ, etc., different versions of QQ created by Tencent for different countries or regions, mostly incompatible with Chinese QQ. Hard to find, so won’t look for them;

  14. QQ chat system built into QQ mailbox, very compact and convenient, used it often when webqq wasn’t mature enough, the downside is it doesn’t display group messages and doesn’t count online time;

  15. Modified versions of QQ, such as Coral QQ, Piaoyun QQ, BM QQ, Beyond Custom QQ, etc., either adding special features or stripping down to basic functions… blame Tencent for always hiding useful features and packing in useless ones…;

That’s all I can think of for now, if there are any omissions, please leave a comment to remind me…
