This afternoon, I still attended the elective course (Introduction to Sexuality). Today’s topic was about “Sexual Desire” and “Sexually Transmitted Diseases.”
Regarding sexual desire, there wasn’t much new information, and topics like “sexual harassment” didn’t pique my interest either;
After all, these are also subjects of legal studies.
The focus was on “Sexually Transmitted Diseases.”
Listening to the teacher’s explanation during class, I didn’t think STDs were a big deal, except for AIDS,
It seemed like most of them were relatively easy to resolve.
Just now, out of boredom, I looked up some information on STDs online…
Shocking…
According to the World Health Organization (WHO) classification, there are four levels of STDs:
Level 1 STDs: AIDS.
Level 2 STDs: Syphilis, Gonorrhea, Chancroid, Lymphogranuloma Venereum, Granuloma Inguinale, Non-gonococcal Urethritis, Chlamydial Genitourinary Infections, Mycoplasma Genitourinary Infections, Trichomonal Vaginitis, Bacterial Vaginosis, Sexually Transmitted Vaginitis, Sexually Transmitted Pelvic Inflammatory Disease.
Level 3 STDs: Genital Warts, Genital Herpes, Vulvovaginal Candidiasis, Molluscum Contagiosum, Genital Herpes Simplex, Gardnerella Vaginitis, Sexually Transmitted Perihepatitis, Reiter’s Syndrome, Group B Streptococcal Disease, Hepatitis B, Scabies, Pubic Lice, Cytomegalovirus Disease.
Level 4 STDs: Giardiasis, Campylobacteriosis, Amebiasis, Salmonellosis, Shigellosis, Hepatitis A.
The class mainly covered the second level of STDs.
I remember that in ancient times, there were five types, with syphilis and gonorrhea being the most common, collectively known as “flower-willow diseases”—diseases one would get from visiting brothels.
The teacher mentioned that classic STDs like syphilis are very treatable in the early stages. If I recall correctly, syphilis, gonorrhea, chancroid, etc., can all be treated with penicillin or tetracycline in the initial stages. Specific methods can be found online.
However, STDs are like the common cold; having it once doesn’t mean you won’t get it again. If you don’t pay attention to hygiene, you could continue to contract these diseases.
It’s crucial to remember that STDs must be treated promptly. All early-stage classic STDs can be resolved with medication. Otherwise, it could lead to tragedy!!!
